FAQs

Not necessarily. If you’re using a laptop or desktop, you’ll be able to follow the link I send you and access Zoom without an account. If you’re using a phone or tablet you’ll need to download the Zoom app and, in that case, you’ll need to create an account but it’s free and easy to do.

No, not at the moment. A recording session is a conversation between me and one other person. If that changes in the future I’ll let you know.

The only exception to this is for custom projects, commissioned by a group or organisation

Yes. I’m always happy to travel. If you’re based in Wirral or Liverpool, individual in-person sessions cost £60 more than Zoom recordings (£50 when booking multiple sessions). If you’re further afield, please ask for an accurate in-person fee.

Organisation and group bookings are priced on a case-by-case basis, on an hourly, daily or project rate that includes travel costs.

If you would like a video or audio clip from our Audio Autobiography to be featured on our blog and social media, please let me know.

It would also be very much appreciated if you would consider submitting a testimonial to go alongside it.

Absolutely not. In fact, the best Audio Autobiographies are natural, free-flowing conversations.

I’ll send you a prompt sheet in advance of our session, to help you bring to mind people and anecdotes you might like to mention but reading through it is optional. I actively encourage you NOT to plan the session in advance and I ask you not to bring notes to our conversation.

Yes. If you have already purchased an Audio Autobiography or Memoir package and you would like to add an extra session, for the same interviewee, you can do so.

Additional sessions are currently available for £200 each.

No. If your session is recorded via Zoom, video footage is captured as well as audio but this is not supplied as part of the finished product for a number of reasons.

The main one being that many people feel a lot more pressure when they know they’re going to be watched on video. Also, the quality of videos vary vastly dependent upon equipment used, lighting, technical proficiency of the interviewee etc. Setting yourself up to be recorded could take a lot of effort. Whereas audio usually sounds good.

That said, if you would like me to lift a couple of short video clips from our conversation and supply them to you, along with your audio, I’d be happy to. I’ll ask you about this as part of the planning process.
